The NAME of God will surprise you!
Knowing the name of God is the single most important knowledge you must have. Learn the name of God and how to secure your position in the kingdom of heaven.
Knowing the name of God is the most important thing for salvation. Without knowing this, there is no entry into the kingdom of God. This is why there is a lot of fuss around this name, but are the conclusions correct?
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Ezekiel 39:7 (KJV)
Why is the name of God important?
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13 KJV
This verse makes it clear how important it is to know the name of God. Acts 2:21 again emphasizes the point, thus placing the magnitude of importance on something many take for granted.
13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:13-14 (KJV)
The "Word" name of God
Many words, translations and transliterations are used as the name of God. This has been done for ages using words such as:
GOD, Yahuah, LORD, Yahweh, Jehovah, Yeshua, Yahusha, Yahushua, Yahoshua, Yahwashi, Yahawashi, Yehoshua, Iēsoûs, Jesus.
If knowing only the lettered name is the requirement to be saved, then most of the world would be. We understand that the path is narrow, and only those who call upon the name will be saved (Romans 10:13), which leads to the understanding that "calling upon the name" is not just about saying the word.
the true name of God
Throughout the scriptures, it is evident that names have meanings. Israel means "he will rule as God" and indicates the name of Jacob is significant for the bigger picture. Jacob's name was changed to Israel because he had power with God and men.
What was this power?
Jacob had favour in the eyes of God and had authority over men. He walked in the Spirit of God, following the instructions of God and having a heart like God's. He was a just and righteous man, walking in the way of God and under the teachings of God.
Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
Acts 5:28 (KJV)
The apostles taught in the authority of Jesus as Lord, following his example and instructions. Jesus taught in the name of the Father and spoke the words of the Father. Jesus spoke under God's authority (Matthew 7:29, Matthew 8:9).
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
John 8:28 (KJV)
Conclusion
The name of God is righteousness. To be righteous, we must operate in his name, and if we glorify the Son, we glorify God since the Son operated under the name of God.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
The righteous (just, lawful) shall inherit the earth is the word of God with the way to the truth through walking in the commandments of God.
Then answered I and said, O Lord that bearest rule, thou hast ordained in thy law, that the righteous should inherit these things, but that the ungodly should perish.
