Yearning for the new Beginning

A poem by a servant of God, who has complete faith in him but desires and end to this evil world.

Yearning for the new Beginning
Awaiting a new world

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedThe night is long, but an end is in sight
He wonders, when will it dawn and light
The pain is less than the desire for life
Oh how he wishes to escape this night

He lifts his eyes to the stars in the sky
With watering eyes and yearning for times
Where the world is alive and does not die
And the wake from sleep is with delightful chimes

Oh God, he cries with tearful eyes
We know you have overcome the world
But when do you deliver us from these plights
And scourge this earth and free your fold

We fight with the courage you have lent
No turning back despite the countless deterrents
Never leaving your side and breaking from the vine
Despite the lusts of the flesh and the call of wine

We know we love you because we hear your voice
And we abandon the callings of our worldly life
Bowing our hearts to your whispering leadings and choice
Never fearing to walk in your footprint, no matter the fight

You navigate our path with utmost skill
And stir our being till we rage with desire
To fulfil all you set before us which is your will
Never fearing, knowing you have lit our hearts on fire.
